my spring must haves
There are so many products and brands out there now, it’s hard to decided what the heck do i use? At the salon i work at we carry a wide variety of products & now 4 main brands for women & one exclusive male line. I’m going to share what my must haves are for the transitioning weather & prepping our hair for all the lightening & styling we will be doing this spring!
First let’s start w the good stuff- shampoo & conditioner. In my opinion these are the most important products of your regime. this literally starts your prep for your hair, why would you not invest in them??? these are my two favorite shampoos & conditioners that I’m currently using in my own shower & behind the chair.
Davines HEART OF GLASS SILKENING SHAMPOO & CONDITONER: this is heaven in a bottle. Sustainably grown & packaged this duo is proven to brighten your blonde, cancel out MOST warmth, strengthen & repair your hair. Now when i say MOST warmth what do i mean by that? most purple based or toning shampoos completely cancel out any warmth, that’s not always a good thing. Ever notice a lavender shade to your blonde hair? or even a dull tan hue over your blonde? that is because your shampoo has toned out EVERYTHING leaving you flat & dull. What I love about the Davines line is that my hair literally looks the same after I tone it until I’m ready to change it out. The tone never changes too much, it’s always bouncy & SHINEY. The conditioner is a rich consistency but not too heavy & it all smells so fresh & not overpowering. This is a great shampoo to work into your blonde hair needs regime!
Redken ACIDIC BONDING CONCETRATE: Most of my clients are very aware of this amazing product. These products are formulated Citric acid, a mega acid found in the bonding complex, to strengthen weakened hair bonds. The biggest thing plus out of this product is the intense conditioning & repair of dry, heavily processed hair. It also is a color fade protector. By reinforcing weak bonds in the hair, its able to “hold on” to color & keep it from slipping out of the hair shaft! This is suitable for all hair types & can be used very sparingly to not “weigh” fine hair down or used for a more intense treatment on thick or coarse hair! even for those who do not have color on their hair, this is a great line to repair your hair from environmental & heat tool damage.

PUREOLOGY COLOR FANATIC LEAVE IN SPRAY: this is my iconic “ooooo what is that” spray. Any time I use this when im toning or combing out my clients every single person asks what the heck is that & do you have it at the salon??? This magic is a leave-in detangling spray, but it also moisturizes, protects against blow dry heat damage, repairs damage, smooths & adds shine, has sunscreen to protect from sun damage, & is a porosity & ph balancer! it literally does it all. This is good for any client, with any hair texture & thickness. It is a light weight product that is sprayed in WET HAIR & then can be air dried ( my personal fave) or blown dry.
DESIGNME INFIINTE MIST HEAT PROTECTANT SPRAY: this is a new line I’ve introduced to some of my clients & myself. but now I cant live without this spray. This spray adds shine, seals cuticle to reduce hair fall out, mends split ends & for my extension ladies out their it almost molds your natural hair & extensions even better together for an easier blow out. It comes out in a continuous mist, so a little goes along way! It is 92% made natural being infused with cannabis Satavia oil, & argan oil. Also to make a smaller impact on the environment it can be refilled! This product can be used on damp hair or dry hair ( just make sure product is brushed thru & dried before using curling irons & flat irons).
DAVINES THIS IS A DRY TEXTURIZER: the smell of this alone will make you want to leave with this spray. I love a piece-y, texture look on my clients when we finish our styles. I am always looking for a good texture spray. Thank you Davines for giving me that. This is a reworkable spray (means you can add as you go aka 4-5 days no shampoo & refresh your curls without build up) It provides a natural look & adds soft texture and body, so you don’t lose the softness of your blow out. It smells like candy to me & I love it because it’s not cakey or sticky or overly mattifying. Use this product on dry, styled hair for the maximum affect!
