How do i get my curls to stay allllll day?!?
this is a major question i get in the chair from my clients. I always hear "I literally don’t have to wash my hair for days when you style it” or “I can never get my hair to look this way when I’m home.” Its always easier when someone else does your hair, its quicker, faster, & usually does look smoother & better. BUT it is not impossible to get your hair looking right & cut down on your style routine.
Obviously, knowledge of how & what you want to do to your hair is key. But some people think that’s the only reason they can’t fix their own hair. Most of my clients who have a great style routine for their hair always invests money & knowledge into their PRODUCTS & TOOLS. I truly think those two major key parts are crucial to a great style & longevity out of your hair look. For today were going over what I use in the salon & on my self to create these styles that last my clients days!
PREP: Shampoo & conditioners make or break you from the start. If you ever wonder, why I ask at the shampoo bowl “how are we styling you today?” it’s because that style starts when your hair is wet.

PREP: after shower products- these are what everyone loves to smell & what truly locks in that style. YES blow drying your hair with your hands or if your feeling crazy a round brush (Olivia garden) round brush at that you will have better results. Most styling products are heat activated, aka blow dryer. Will you get results if you air dry then use heat tools? Yeah, but it won’t be the full impact these products will give you, especially if you’re going for volume & hold in your styles. (Regardless of if its curly or straight)

· If I have thin & limp hair, I personally wouldn’t use this product
REDKEN VOLUME MAXIMIZER- a product I add to most client’s roots
· Volumizing spray serum (I know sounds weird but works amazingly)

· Great for people with fine hair to instantly create thicker looking hair.

AFTER BLOW DRYING- this is where we break out our curling irons & get to work.
BIO IONIC LONG BARREL CURLING IRON: the best heat tool I’ve ever bought. This really changed my styling game. I truly think this sped up my styling time without compromising the level of style I give my clients.

REDKEN TRIPLE DRY SPRAY NUMBER 15- this is for after curls are curled & before brushing them out. I always spray as I am pulling curls out and spray all thru the hair to add a matte barrier to lock in curls.

· Is not a “wet” hair spray. Meaning it will not make your hair wet to the touch or that crunchy old school curled look.
· Adds texture & body without weighing down & smells like a dream.
I know this is a lot of products but this is literally what I can use on ONE client. This is a solid plan if you want to insure your hair styles.
